Pomfret Fish : 750 gm
Groundnut Oil : 120 ml/ ½ cup
Onions : 60 gm/ ⅓ cup
Tomatoes : 60 gm/ ¼ cup
Coconut Milk : 200 ml/ 14 Tbs
Green Chillies : 4 pcs
Salt to taste
Whole Red Chillies : 15 pcs
Coriander seeds : 15 gm/ 7½ tsp
Cumin seeds : 5 gm/ 1½ tsp
Turmeric : 5 gm/ 1 tsp
Garlic : 5 gm/ 1½ tsp
Ginger : 20 gm/ 2 Tbs
Tamarind : 40 gm
Step:1 Clean and wash fish, make darnes.
Step:2 Wash all the vegetables. Peel and slice onions. chop tomatoes. Remove stems, slit and deseed green chillies.
Step:3 Peel and roughly chop garlic. Scrape, wash and roughly cut ginger. Deseed tamarind. Put these and red chillies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and turmeric in a blender, add water (approx 120 ml/ ½ cup) and make a fine paste.
method:1 Heat oil in a handi, add onions and saute over medium heat until golden
method:2 Add tomatoes and the paste, Roast for 2 minutes, add the 100 ml of
coconut milk and water (approx 400 ml/1 cups) and bring to a boil.
method:3 Then add fish and green chillies, simmer for 5 minutes. Adjust the seasoning.
method:4 Now add the 700 ml of coconut milk and bring to a boil.
finale: Ready your fish curry and serve with accompaniments.
Remove to a bowl and serve with boiled rice.
